Marriage & The White Horse
CHAPTER 19:1-21
THE MARRIAGE AND WHITE HORSE
Review Last Lesson:
Last lesson in Chapters 17 and 18 of Revelation, we covered the fall of Babylon. Now that the false religious system has been destroyed completely, it is time for Christ to take his Bride.
The wedding does not take place until the Lamb’s wife is ready. Just as Eve was taken from Adam, Christ’s wife will be taken from Him. Revelation Chapter 12 states that she was given the testimony of Jesus. Christ’s wife must prove to be faithful to God and to Christ.
Jesus tells us about the Great marriage that the father made for his son. He was telling us about his own wedding. Jesus also tells us that God made one wife for one husband. We must remember that God does nothing that is against nature. Christ is entitled to marry just as any man or woman.
We as the church are a part of the bridal party of Christ.
Psalms 45 said to her: 10Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father’s house; 11so shall the King greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.
The Multitude in Heaven Praises God
1 And after these things, I heard a great voice of a numerous crowd in Heaven, saying, Hallelujah! The salvation and the glory and the honor and the power of the Lord our God! 2 For true and righteous are His judgments, because He judged the great harlot who defiled the earth with her fornication. And He avenged the blood of His slaves out of her hand. 3 And secondly they said, Hallelujah! Also her smoke goes up forever and ever. 4 And the twenty four elders, and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God sitting on the throne, saying, Amen! Hallelujah! 5 And a voice came out from the throne, saying, Praise our God, all His slaves, and the ones fearing Him, the small and the great. 6 And I heard as a sound of a numerous crowd, and as a sound of many waters, and as a sound of strong thunders, saying, Hallelujah! Because the Lord God Almighty reigned. 7 Let us rejoice and let us exult, and we will give glory to Him, because the marriage of the Lamb came, and His wife prepared herself. 8 And it was given to her that she be clothed in fine linen, pure and bright; for the fine linen is the righteousness of the saints.
The Marriage Supper of the Lamb
9 And he says to me, Write: Blessed are the ones having been called to the supper of the marriage of the Lamb. And he says to me, These words of God are true. 10 And I fell before his feet to worship him, but he said to me, Behold! Stop! I am a fellow-slave of yours, and of your brothers, having the testimony of Jesus. Worship God. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
The Rider on the White Horse
11 And I saw Heaven being opened. And, behold! A white horse, and He sitting on it having been called Faithful and True. And He judges and wars in righteousness. 12 And His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head many diadems, having a name that had been written, which no one knows except Himself; 13 and having been clothed in a garment which had been dipped in blood. And His name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies in Heaven followed Him on white horses, being dressed in fine linen, white and pure. 15 And out of His mouth goes forth a sharp sword, that with it He might smite the nations. And He will shepherd them with an iron rod. And He treads the winepress of the wine of the anger and of the wrath of God Almighty. 16 And He has on His garment and on His thigh a name having been written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
17 And I saw one angel standing in the sun. And he cried with a great voice, saying to all the birds flying in mid-heaven, Come and gather together to the supper of the great God, 18 that you may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of commanders, and the flesh of strong ones, and the flesh of horses, and of the ones sitting on them, and the flesh of all, both freemen and slaves, even of the small and great.
19 And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth, and their armies being assembled to make war with the One sitting on the horse, and with His army. 20 And the beast was seized, and with this one the false prophet doing signs before it, by which he led astray those having received the mark of the beast, and those worshiping its image. The two were thrown alive into the Lake of Fire burning with brimstone. 21 And the rest were killed with the sword of the One sitting on the horse, it having gone out of His mouth. And all the birds were filled from their flesh.

LESSON:
A Song for the King’s Marriage To the chief Musician upon Shoshan’nim, for the sons of Korah, Maschil, A Song of loves. 1My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the King: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
2Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever. 3Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most Mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty. 4And in thy majesty ride prosperously, because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things. 5Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the King’s enemies; whereby the people fall under thee.
6Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre. 7Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. 8All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.
9Kings’ daughters were among thy honorable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir. 10Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father’s house; 11so shall the King greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him. 12And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall entreat thy favor.
13The King’s daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold. 14She shall be brought unto the King in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee. 15With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the King’s palace. 16Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth.
17I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever.
Christ’s wife must follow his footsteps, and he will follow hers. Just as Adam followed Eve’s footsteps in the garden, Christ will follow his wife’s footsteps back to God, thus ending the cycle of sin that was committed in the beginning. His wife will have to work hard and follow all of God’s commandments. She will be just like her husband. She will love him and watch after his sheep. She will spread his testimony to all who will listen. Their lives together will be a watered garden full of love. We will be able to rejoice with them as part of the bridal party, and participate in that glorious wedding and attend the marriage supper. There will be a new heaven and a new earth. Death will be destroyed, and the original plan that God had for all will finally take place.
