The 144,000 Sealed
CHAPTER 7:1-17
THE 144,000 SEALED
1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on every tree. 2 And I saw another angel coming up from the rising of the sun, having a seal of the living God. And he cried with a great voice to the four angels to whom it was given to them to harm the earth and the sea, saying, 3 Do not harm the earth, nor the sea, nor the trees, until we seal the slaves of our God on their foreheads
. 4 And I heard the number of those having been sealed: one hundred forty four thousands, having been sealed out of every tribe of the sons of Israel: 5 Out of the tribe of Judah, twelve thousand having been sealed. Out of the tribe of Reuben, twelve thousand having been sealed. Out of the tribe of Gad, twelve thousand having been sealed. 6 Out of the tribe of Asher, twelve thousand having been sealed. Out of the tribe of Naphtali, twelve thousand having been sealed. Out of the tribe of Manasseh, twelve thousand having been sealed. 7 Out of the tribe of Simeon, twelve thousand having been sealed. Out of the tribe of Levi, twelve thousand having been sealed. Out of the tribe of Issachar, twelve thousand having been sealed. 8 Out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve thousand having been sealed. Out of the tribe of Joseph, twelve thousand having been sealed. Out of the tribe of Benjamin, twelve thousand having been sealed.
9 After these things I saw, and behold, a great crowd which no one was able to number them, out of every nation, even tribes and peoples and tongues standing in front of the throne, and before the Lamb, having been clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands. 10 And they cry with a great voice, saying, Salvation to our God sitting on the throne, and to the Lamb. 11 And all the angels and of the elders and of the four living creatures stood around the throne. And they fell before the throne on their faces, and worshiped God, 12 saying, Amen. Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and strength to our God forever and ever. Amen.
13 And one of the elders answered, saying to me, These, the ones having been clothed in the white robes, who are they, and from where did they come? 14 And I said to him, Sir, you know. And he said to me, These are those coming out of the great tribulation; and they washed their robes and whitened them in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Because of this they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His sanctuary. And He sitting on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them. 16 And they will not hunger still, nor will they thirst still, nor at all shall fall on them the sun, nor any kind of heat. 17 Because the Lamb in the midst of the throne will shepherd them, and will lead them on the living fountains of waters; and God will wipe off every tear from their eyes.

A. Four angels standing on the four corners of the earth holding the four winds B. The angel from the east having the seal of the living God, telling the angels of the four winds, who were given to hurt the earth to not hurt the earth until God’s servants, 144,000 were sealed. C. Multitudes from every nation tribe, people and languages were rejoicing around God’s throne. These are the ones who will be saved and baptized through the tribulation.
LESSON:
In this lesson we learn that Angels do the commandments of God here on earth. The Angel with the seal of the living God, (our Father) has power over all the angels. They will bring about the events prior to the return of Christ. The Angel with the seal of God tells the Angels on the four corners of the earth to hold the wind. They were commanded not to hurt the earth until the seal of God had been placed in his servant’s foreheads.
There will be 144,000 which will have the seal of God. This 144,000 will be busy doing God’s work during the tribulation. They will save as many people as possible during this time. This 144,000 is from the 12 tribes of Israel.
In this chapter, John said that a great multitude which no man could number of all nations and kindred and people and languages were clothed in white robes and they had been washed in the blood of the Lamb. They will make it through the tribulation.
Jacob in Genesis Chapter 49 told his sons what would befall them. It is their descendants who make up the 12 tribes: Jacob’s Prophecy concerning His Sons (12 Tribes)
1And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days. 2Gather yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father.
3Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power: 4unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father’s bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch.
5Simeon and Levi are brethren; instruments of cruelty are in their habitations. 6O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honor, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their self-will they digged down a wall. 7Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel. 8Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father’s children shall bow down before thee.
9Judah is a lion’s whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up? 10The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. 11Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass’s colt unto the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes: 12his eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk.
13Zeb’ulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea; and he shall be for a haven of ships; and his border shall be unto Zidon. 14Is’sachar is a strong ass couching down between two burdens: 15and he saw that rest was good, and the land that it was pleasant; and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant unto tribute.
16Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel. 17Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward. 18I have waited for thy salvation, O LORD.
19Gad, a troop shall overcome him: but he shall overcome at the last. 20Out of Asher his bread shall be fat, and he shall yield royal dainties. 21Naph’tali is a hind let loose: he giveth goodly words.
22Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall: 23the archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him: 24but his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel;) 25even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb: 26the blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.
27Benjamin shall raven as a wolf: in the morning he shall devour the prey, and at night he shall divide the spoil.
God will dwell among those that make it through the tribulation!
