The Vials of Wrath
CHAPTER 16:1-21
THE VIALS OF WRATH
Review Last Lesson: Last lesson in Chapter 15 of Revelation, we covered the Song of Moses and the Song of the Lamb. Then the temple was closed and the angels with the seven vials were given instruction to pour the vials out on the earth and the temple would not be opened until all was finished. Judgment is now. For those who did not repent, it is very late in the day. God gave everyone plenty of chances to repent and there are those who do not believe they need to repent. The sinners are about see the wrath of God. It will come upon them unawares because they did not head the warnings and were busy with the cares of this life. Jesus told us many times that this day would come to pass. In Chapter 17 and 18 a great judgment will placed on the one system that was drunk with the blood of all the saints. Her judgment will be worse that the others. We will cover that judgment next lesson.
The Vials of Wrath
1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels: Go and pour out the bowls of the anger of God onto the earth.
2 And the first went away and poured out his bowl onto the earth. And it became a bad and evil sore onto the men, the ones having the mark of the beast, and the ones worshiping its image.
3 And the second angel poured out his bowl onto the sea. And it became blood, as of a dead one, and every soul of life died in the sea. 4
And the third angel poured out his bowl onto the rivers, and onto the fountains of the waters; and it became blood. 5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying, You are righteous, Lord, the One who is, and who was, and who will be, because You judged these things, 6 since they poured out the blood of the saints and of the prophets; and You gave blood to them to drink, for they were deserving.
7 And I heard another out of the altar saying, Yes, Lord God Almighty, Your judgments are true and righteous.
8 And the fourth angel poured out his bowl onto the sun. And it was given to him to burn men with fire. 9 And men were burned with great heat. And they blasphemed the name of God, the One having authority over these plagues and they did not repent to give Him glory.
10 And the fifth angel poured out his bowl onto the throne of the beast. And its kingdom became darkened; and they gnawed their tongues from the pain. 11 And they blasphemed the God of Heaven, from their pains and from their sores. And they did not repent of their works.
12 And the sixth angel poured out his bowl onto the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up so that might be prepared the way of the kings from the rising of the sun. 13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
14 For they are spirits of demons doing signs, which go forth to the kings of the earth, even of the whole habitable world to assemble them to the war of that day, the great day of God Almighty.
15 Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is the one watching and keeping his garments, that he does not walk naked, and they may see his shame.
16 And He assembled them in the place having been called in Hebrew, Armageddon.
17 And the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a great voice came from the throne from the temple of Heaven, saying, It has happened!
18 And voices and thunders and lightnings occurred. And a great earthquake occurred, such as did not occur since man came into being on the earth, such a huge earthquake, so great! 19 And the great city came to be into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And Babylon the great was remembered before God, to give to her the cup of the wine of the anger of His wrath.
20 And every island fled away, and mountains were not found. 21 And a great hail, as the size of a talent, came down out of the heaven upon men. And men blasphemed God from the plague of the hail, because its plague is exceedingly great.

LESSON:
The seven angels were commanded to pour out the bowls of the anger of God onto the all the earth. The bowls are all of the innocent blood that was shed, especially the blood of God’s only Son. Even with the bowls of wrath, men still refused to repent.
34Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city: 35That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. 36Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation. AMEN.
The bowls of wrath is all of the blood that was shed which was caused by Satan and his evil children, from the righteous blood of Abel to Christ and all who were slain for the Word of God. This blood is being reserved for the day of God’s wrath. Luke 21:25-36 and Isaiah 13:1-22
ISAIAH 13:1-22 The Burden of Babylon
1The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz did see. 2Lift ye up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles. 3I have commanded my sanctified ones, I have also called my mighty ones for mine anger, even them that rejoice in my highness.
4The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the LORD of hosts mustered the host of the battle. 5They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the LORD, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land. 6Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.
7Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man’s heart shall melt: 8and they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames.
9Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it. 10For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. 1
1And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible. 12I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.
13Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger. 14And it shall be as the chased roe, and as a sheep that no man taketh up: they shall every man turn to his own people, and flee every one into his own land. 15Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword. 16Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished.
17Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it. 18Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eye shall not spare children. 19And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees’ excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. 20It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.
21But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there. 22And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.
